Who

What

The Portland Grief House invites you to join The Lost Table. A table that is resilient, strong and safe where we can share our grief from all different kinds of loss. Take a seat, bring a dish and feel free to share your heart in good company. How do you deal with your grief when you are struggling to understand it? Sometimes grief needs community and food.

At this gathering we'll each take a few minutes to spill our giref in whatever way feels right. We might talk about a thing that happened or is happening, things that are missing or out-staying their welcome. When one of us is making their offering the rest will listen. We'll save a little time at the end of our gathering to thank each other and talk a bit, but won't interrupt or interject during spilling time.

Our schedule for the evening will look a little something like this:

5:30 - 6:00(ish) - gather, be welcomed, serve yourself food, chat with people you've met at Lost Table before, introduce yourself to new people.

6:00 - 7:00(ish) - settle around a small table and share your stories, memories and feelings plus photos drawings - whatever feels important.

7:00 - 7:15(ish) - stetch your legs, get more food, chat and mingle.

7:15 - 7:30(ish) - Clean up, gather your things, exchange information as you're called to.

7:30 - goodbyes.

To bring:

  • a dish to share with serving utensils (this isn't a requirement - a bag of chips ot nothing at all works just fine)
  • dinner ware for yourself
  • beverage for yourself (if you'd like something other than water)

The Portland Grief House is happy to help carry on this lovely tradition started by the Side Yard Farm.

We hope to see you there.
