The Childrens' Table at Side Yard Farm

The Side Yard Farm & Kitchen and the Portland Grief House invite you to join The Childrens' Table. A table that is resilient, strong and safe for those who have experienced the loss of a child. Your child can be biological or not, lost to death or to another thing, young or grown - we're opening our arms wide enough for all the lost ones to come gather.

Take a seat, bring a dish and tell us all your stories; happy memories and painful memories mixed or side by side. When a child dies it can be hard to keeep talking about them with family and friends who struggle to know how to hold their loss. Our children live inside us forever - lets make a space where we can freely show our whole selves, including the parts that are filled up with them. 

To bring:

• a dish to share with serving utensils
• dinner ware for yourself (plate, bowl, spoon, fork, napkin)
• beverage for yourself
• photos or drawings or anything else you would like to share
