Stir the Pot is an invitation to tend the community cauldron. All people come from the Earth and carry earth magic. How we do this differs based on many things: ancestral traditions that are passed down, teachings from other wise humans, animals and plant beings, what we learn with our own tuition, methods passed down in books. Stir the Pot invites us to join together to prepare for solstice and equinox turnings traditionally celebrated in Northern European agricultural societies, and harvest-turning festivals of the Gaels—Imbolc, Beltane, Lunasagh, Yule. We'll have a group weather report that includes an astrological and seasonal outlook; write down questions and put them in the pot. Priestess Bling will offer a focused one-card group reading; pull questions out of the pot and offer them to the group. Moe or a guest witch will lead us in a grounding and we will close with wishes and blessings sent up by the group.
Masks are optional. Stir The Pot will be canceled or moved to an outdoor location during severe outbreaks. People are encouraged and expected to avoid the event if they have symptoms, feel ill, or have been exposed to COVID-19 within 5 days of the event. This event is supported by the B3 Newsroom. Questions? Email me! Or bring them to put in the pot! WHO: Anyone who can manage themselves independently in a social situation or has a person to help them do that, who likes the moon, is curious about witchcraft (as hosted by me (I practice earth magic rooted in a northern European/Celtic storyteller working class clearing witch aging human queer woman kind of way) and wants to know the answer to the question, “What does it look like to do community earth magic in a spirit of liberation for all beings?”
HOW MUCH: Funds will be divided between the house, me, any guest, and the land. ‘The land’ portion will be donated after it accrues $100, divided between Indigenous and Black-led projects as a recognition and reparation that the event takes place on unceded territory of the Clackamas band of Chinook, the Multnomahs, the Tualatin Kalapuya, the Wasco-Wishram, the Willamette Tumwater, and many other tribes who have lived and traveled along these two Rivers, in a historically Black redlined and gentrified neighborhood. Moe, guests, and the house will be paid out per event. So far, we have together raised $100 each for Future Generations Collaborative, and Crenshaw and Shabazz.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?: Bring anything that helps you shine, to bless/consecrate/imbue, a question about witchcraft or magic if you have one, and money for the pot if you feel good about it. Bring your loving healed ancestors and allies!
See you there!
