Who

What

You are invited to join Moe Bowstern and Laura Green , for an evening of earth magic at the Portland Grief House as we stir the pot for Solstice.

Stir the Pot is a recurring event that has been described as a 'live cable access witch talk show.' This will be its third stir, and its first time at the Portland Grief House.

We will open by sharing names and pronouns; supplies will be available for making optional name, symbol, image or glyph tags.

The event will feature an herbal energy clearing, circle casting, a 1-card (or whatever feels good) tarot check in, an  astrology report, reflections on seasonal energy, and the moon.

We will have a communal grounding specific to calling in support and protection to navigate the frenzy of the mainstream holiday season working closely with our tree allies.

We will have a Q&A, inviting questions on solstice, grief, navigating holidays, and general witchcraft, where attendee participants are welcome to put a question in the pot. Questions will be answered in community as time permits. Any unanswered questions  will be answered the next time we Stir the Pot.

We will read blessings and wishes at the end of the event.

May this season bring you what you need.

More Details:

Moe will host.  There will be a community altar.  You can come early to help set up. You are welcome to bring something special for the altar.

Masks are optional; Moe will wear one. It is understood that virus concerns fluctuate with outbreaks. Stir The Pot will be canceled or moved in the event of a  severe outbreak. People are encouraged and expected to avoid the event if they have symptoms, feel ill, or have been exposed to COVID-19 within 5 days of the event.

Who should come? Anyone who can manage themselves independently in a social situation or has a person to help them do that, who likes the moon, is curious about witchcraft (as facilitated by Moe Bowstern, who practices earth magic rooted in a northern European/Celtic storyteller working class clearing witch aging human queer woman kind of way)  and wants to know the answer to the question, “What does it look like to do open community earth magic at solstice?”

How Much? There’s no explicit cover charge. If you want to put something in the pot at the event or the virtual pot of this ticket booth, you are welcomed to do so. Any funds raised will be divided between The Grief House, Moe, and the land. ‘The land’ portion will be donated after it accrues $100, divided between Indigenous and Black-led projects as a recognition and reparation that the event takes place on unceded territory of the Clackamas band of Chinook, the Multnomahs, the Tualatin Kalapuya, the Wasco-Wishram, the Willamette Tumwater, and many other tribes who have lived and traveled along these two Rivers, in a historically Black redlined and gentrified neighborhood.

This event is supported by the B3 Newsroom. Questions? Or bring them to put in the pot!
