Hosted by Death Worker Sarah Al-Khayyal, Dearly Departed is an evening to share stories, tend to grief, and keep legacy alive through PowerPoint presentations about the people we’ve lost.
When we’re grieving, it’s not uncommon for the people around us to feel afraid to bring up our dead people in conversation. The intention is good, but the impact is usually bad– how else can we keep their memory alive? So here’s me asking you, will you please tell me about your dead person?
All forms of death loss are welcome at Dearly Departed, be it parent loss, child loss, friend loss, extended family loss– whoever the person is to you, please come tell us about them. Presenters will have about six minutes to share, and we’ll cap the night…
